Over the course of 3.5 days of clinic, the team provided care to 882 patients, dispensing more than 2,600 medications to address both acute and chronic conditions.
We successfully completed three medical missions, beginning in Kavule, Uganda in January, where our team cared for more than 1,000 patients.
During the mission, our team served over 1,000 patients, providing essential medical services including primary care, pharmacy consultations, and the distribution of medications, vitamins, over-the-counter treatments, reading glasses and distance glasses.
Waves of Health team returned from Dajabón & Restauración, Dominican Republic, where 48 dedicated volunteers—from the U.S. and DR—cared for nearly 1,900 patients.
For the first time, we also distributed reading glasses to 75 individuals—an important milestone, as improved vision has been shown to enhance productivity, support daily tasks, and significantly improve quality of life.
Our team made a huge impact by dispensing more than 580 sunglasses, 250 reading glasses, and providing 100 patients with custom distance glasses through the US system.
250 patients were seen each day by a dedicated group of pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, doctors and our medical support team
In addition to receiving primary medical and pharmacy care, the patients received vitamins, reading glasses and other over the counter items.
All children and women of child bearing age were given multivitamins. A Pediatric vision screening program was initiated.
