On Sunday, our Waves of Health team returned from Dajabón & Restauración, Dominican Republic, where 48 dedicated volunteers—from the U.S. and DR—cared for nearly 1,900 patients. For those managing hypertension and diabetes, we didn’t just check vitals—we sent them home with a six-month supply of medication.

Here’s a snapshot of our day in the field:
- Comprehensive care: From first-light check-ins to last-call goodbyes, every patient received our full attention
- Vision screenings: Clearing away the haze so each person can tackle their tomorrow with crystal-clear focus
- Chronic care & wellness visits: Walking patients through treatment plans and keeping them on track—because health is a marathon, not a sprint
This mission wouldn’t have happened without:
- Our volunteers’ grit and grace—you showed up ready to roll up your sleeves (and occasionally dodge a rogue rooster).
- Our donors’ generosity—every donation, big or small, fueled our work and lifted spirits
Looking ahead:
- Nov 2025: Back to the Dominican Republic
- Jan 2026: Uganda awaits our next chapter
And don’t forget our fall fundraiser—Sanjay’s Smoke Shop Cigar Social on September 20, 2025. Come share stories, swap mission tales, and help power the next wave of care.
A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, donor, and supporter. Together, we’re not just riding waves—we’re making them.
